Electrical Hazard Awareness Training (EHAT)

Curriculum Overview

Indoor Morning

3-4 Hour Course for Groups Up to 30 Students

This electrical hazard awareness training provides students with an understanding of electrical supply systems and their operations. Additionally, it covers the hazards associated with working near electrical supply lines and the necessary mitigation strategies.

Attendees will also learn about the regulations and standards that apply to them, including the updates to the new ANSI Z 133-2026 4.1 Electrical Hazards.

Most of the class is indoors; only a small time frame will be spent outside.

Outdoor Afternoon Focused on Aerial Lifts (optional at no additional cost)

3-4 Hour Course for Groups Up to 15 Students*

A short presentation about suspension trauma and how to manage it. Spend an afternoon reviewing the use of the ground controls and practice self rescuing out of the lifts. Two different ways to bail out will be offered or we can practice using the bail out kits already designated with protocols. If bucket to bucket rescue is already part of the protocol, we can incorporate practicing that. If inclement weather is expected, an indoor area needs to be available to run 2-3 lifts at one time.

  • 2-3 lifts with outdoor area large enough to operate them (will need the specifics on what they are, height/reach, articulating bucket, squirt boom, etc, or type of spider lift)

  • Existing bail out kits of there are any

  • If inclement weather, an indoor space large enough to run 2-3 lifts using the ground controls, and practicing bail out procedures

  • Fall arrest harnesses must have a front connection rated for life support
